Ancient History

The Forgotten Flood
Noah's Flood is a well known event that most people are familiar with, even if they know hardly anything else from the Bible. They know the story, but somehow they have forgotten that this was a real event that actually happened. The consequence of their forgetfulness is that they have forgotten about the nature of God, on whom they depend for all their benefits, both spiritual and material. In Britain, this is probably the most important cause of steadily declining church attendances since the 1950's

Genealogy of Maebh Belle Pyles. All the way back to Adam.
The ancestry of the English royal family can be traced back through the Scottish and then the Irish royal lines, and then back to Magog the grandson of Noah, and back to Adam. If you can trace your ancestry to the English royal line, you can trace it back to Adam. There are many generations of the English monarchy, and millions of people have descended from them. Could you be one of them?

Creation History for Young People. There are no problems teaching Creation History to young people. All you have to do is make it interesting.

Forgotten History of the Eastern People. The Chinese people are thought to be the descendants of Joktan, the brother of Peleg, and are sometimes known as the Oriental Hebrews. They were monotheistic for about 2000 years, before the arrival of Taoism and Buddhism, and they worshipped Shang-Ti, the Heavenly Emperor.

The Sibylline Oracles. This article discusses a section of the Sibylline Oracles which describes the fall of the Tower of Babel, the confusion of tongues, the dispersion, and the Titanic wars. The history comes from ancient Egyptian sources, but we will see how it is presented by Jacob Bryant and E. Richmond Hodges, authors of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Cuthites in Arabia. According to Jacob Bryant, the Great Rebellion, and the building of the Tower of Babel, was the action of the descendants of Cush, the son of Ham. They are known as the Cuthite Arabs, and when they were scattered, they invaded other nations. Now it appears that they are re-assembling in Iraq for another Great Rebellion that could turn out to be the beginning of the kingdom of Antichrist.

A New System or an Analysis of Ancient Mythology. Jacob Bryant, third edition, 1807. Complete text of the first section of Volume 3, describing how various characters in the Egyptian and Greek mythology are styled on Noah, and how the ancient world used to celebrate the Flood by carrying a boat in procession.

Hebrew: The Language of Eden. This article discusses the possibility that Hebrew might have been the original language of the world, before the dispersion from Babylon.

Fact and Fiction in Babylon. The Babylonian story of a global Flood is no fable, as it corresponds to the Bible in many of its details, and with the geological record. In that case, why should the Babylonians want to embellish their history with an impossible account of written records being buried before the Flood and then dug up again? The answer lies in the common cause that is found in all embellishments of history. They are written for purposes of flattery, to extol the virtues of the king, the country, the home town of the author, and most importantly to bring the benefits of flattery to the author himself.

Was There A Pre-Flood Babylon?. The writings of Berosus suggest that the geography of the pre-Flood world was much the same as it is now, and those who survived in the Ark returned to Babylon, from where they came. This might suggest that it was just a local Flood, and was not as devastating as the Bible would have us believe, but the reality is not so simple.

All Eyes on Iraq. History is continuous, with a start point and an end point. During Gulf War II, all eyes were focused on Iraq, where history began, and where it will probably also end.

The Good Book of Oxford. This article shows that Geoffrey of Monmouth's "History of the Kings of Britain" was written from a genuine source. His "very ancient book" (or an early Latin translation) is identified by Geffrei Gaimar as "The Good Book of Oxford".

Chronicle of the Early Britons. This document, translated by Bill Cooper from the Welsh copy (Jesus College MS LXI), gives the history of the Britons from the fall of Troy and the arrival of Brutus in Britain, to the time when they were defeated by the Saxons and driven into Wales.

From Noah to Dardanus. This article describes the descendants of Noah, up to the foundation of Troy by Dardanus, and is based on Greek mythology which is thought to be an embellished version of real history.

The Samotheans - First Inhabitants of Britain. According to an ancient account that has been preserved in Holinshed's Chronicle, the earliest inhabitants of the island which is now called Britain were the Samotheans. Their first king was called Samothes, and he is believed to have been Meshech, the sixth son of Japheth.

Lost Works of Berosus. Berosus was a Chaldean priest who researched the early history and genealogy of the nations of the world. He wrote three books in Greek, about 290BC, but his works are now lost, although they are referenced in fragmentary citations from other ancient authors. Some fragments are authentic, and others are of questionable origin.

Travels of Noah into Europe. Summary of a book published in 1601, based mainly on the work of Berosus, but also using material from other authors. It describes additional children of Noah, born after the Flood, and identifies Osyris as a son of Ham. It also resolves the genealogy of Dardanus, the founder of Troy, and gives his descent from Noah. See also the Complete Text.

Mythology Made Easy. Greek mythology, so confusing to many, has its origins in the story of Noah and his descendants, particularly the line of Ham. When this is understood, mythology becomes easy.

Oes Lyfr (Age Book). This extract describes the Samotheans, the first inhabitants of Britain, and then begins the story of Brutus. Translated by Rhun Emlyn, from the Welsh copy of Thomas Williams.

Massacre at Bangor-is-y-coed. If the account of the Welsh historian Theophilus Evans is to be believed, then Augustine was no saint. He is commonly credited with bringing Christianity to the Saxons in Britain, but when he went to Wales he encouraged the Saxon army to carry out a massacre of 1200 monks and scholars at Bangor-is-y-coed near Wrexham.

American History of Wales. The Southern Baptists of America appear to have a version of Welsh history that is not very well known in Wales itself, but it goes back to very ancient times. They have preserved some literature which claims that the Welsh are the descendants of Gomer and they arrived in Britain 300 years after the Flood.

Early British Christianity. Christianity came to Britain during the first century, through the family of Caractacus, and in particular through the ministry of his daughter Claudia.

Trojan City of London. For about a thousand years, the capital city of Britain was called "Troia Newydd", meaning "New Troy", and by forgetting it we have also forgotten some important history that gives the descent of the European nations from Noah.

Alban - White Island. This is the ancient name of the island which is now called Britain. The name comes from a giant called Albion, who was defeated by Hercules. The name was also used by the Trojans while they were living in Latium, and must have been very ancient.

Back to Babylon - The Inevitable Doom of Troy. This article shows how Troy was doomed because they had gone in the wrong direction, towards Babylon, contrary to the commandment of God.

Why All The Fuss About Geoffrey?. The history of the Britons has been discarded by historians, not in pursuit of genuine scholarship, but for political and sectarian reasons.

Denunciation of Polydore Vergil. The arguments of John Price and Humphrey Lloyd, against Polydore Vergil who claimed that the history of Wales was obscure, uncertain and unknown.

Contemporary Issues

Gods of the 21st Century. The ancient world used to worship idols of wood and stone. Now we do it with performing artists of the stage, screen and football field. Nothing has really changed in thousands of years.

European Union - The Road to Rome. A review of British and European history since the Norman Conquest. If Britain joins a Federal Europe, with a single currency, we will eventually find ourselves in a position where we become the Northern Ireland of Europe (237K).

European Union - The Road to Babylon. Breughel's painting of the Tower of Babel was used on a poster, published by the Council of Europe, to represent their own aspirations of European unity.
